Our daily Saturday program follows the regular Laurus Preschool curriculum, focussing on whole-child development and building foundational skills through the lens of science & scientific inquiry.
Saturday Kindergarten
Saturday Kindergarten Enrollment Options

Our kindergarten curriculum is based around science and English literacy, adopting a teaching approach of experimentation and inquiry based learning. Classroom lessons are supplemented with visits to a local park to improve physical fitness, balance, flexibility and coordination through a range of fun games and activities.
A Day at Kindergarten Saturday School

Students join together for a lively and fun welcome to the day! Teachers preview the programme and activities students will be doing during the day. Let’s sing songs, learn seasonal vocabulary and greet each other with a happy smile!

We develop student's English competency through a communicative programme to improve their listening and speaking skills.
We relate the lesson content to students' lives with activities such as show-and-tell.

Phonics provides the cornerstone from which our students learn to read and write. Emphasis is also placed on speaking with a considered syllabus that provides students with the tools they need to improve these important skills.

Students engage in a lively Karate class or visit a local park to improve physical fitness, balance, flexibility and coordination through a range of fun games and activities.

Learning manners, good nutrition and responsibility are all a part of lunch time.

Science classes challenge students through stimulating thematic learning modules which encourage children to hypothesize, experiment and inquire. STEM activities focus on engaging in Project Based Learning to research and engineer a solution to a real-world problem, connected to other subject areas being explored at the time.

The day is brought to a close as children review the day’s learnings. This is also an opportunity for a shared reading time and a goodbye song.
EXTENDED PROGRAM

After a long day, students take a nap, draw, work on worksheets and crafts.

Students create imaginative crafts, do puzzles and play games designed to inspire students to be creative and thoughtful while providing a safe area where they can learn and explore.

Saturday Primary School
Saturday Primary School is designed to help students across a wide range of proficiency levels improve their English literacy. Many parents find this particularly supportive for:
Acquiring and refining English language skills through learning various subjects, particularly science subjects;
Upholding progressively higher English language proficiency as a requirement for international school acceptance;
Families with ambitions for their child to study abroad in the future;
Returnees who want to maintain their English language skills.
This curriculum is designed for Beginners.
Phonics, reading projects, vocabulary building and grammar are all included, as well as science-specific lessons. The programme also features an digital reading platform, and engaging lessons for preparing for the EIKEN test at school every year, which can give parents a clear indication of their child’s improvement.
Assessment & Trial Lesson
As part of the enrolment process, student are required to take an assessment. A placement decision is then made by our educators, for a trial lesson, to ensure students are put on the most optimal learning pathway for their age and level.

Developing student’s English competency through reading and pronunciation practice with an iPA chart.

Using a Cambridge textbook for learning vocabulary and grammar. There are also lessons for specific skills development, such as essay writing and practising conversational fluency.

Students have the opportunity to practise writing & speaking as well as reinforce learnings. Vocabulary tests are also given.

Students enjoy eating and socializing with their classmates during lunch time and can have fun in the P.E room.

Using science worksheets for learning new topics and developing a scientific mind. There are also lessons that teach specific science skills and involve science activities and experiments.

We put great importance on project based-learning. We encourage students to use logic and empower them with the skills to carry out their own experiments and investigations. The curriculum develops students’ skills that contribute to innovative thinking.

This curriculum is designed for students with working proficiency in English.
Our Saturday Primary School lessons are based on Cambridge Curriculum. The programme is designed for learners who have a basic foundation in English and are willing to reach the next level of English understanding. We also focus on such skills as making speeches and writing essays. Classes subjects may include Social Studies, Science, STEM and Entrepreneurship. The programme also includes an eLearning platform as well as lessons for preparing and taking the EIKEN test at school every year, which can give parents a clear indication of their child’s improvement.

Saturday Primary School at Musashi-Kosugi offers a multi-level program for English learners from 5/6 years old to 12 years old (elementary aged).
At Musashi-Kosugi, we have designed engaging activities in English based on the Year 1 (5-6 year olds) curriculum and adapted it to the level of the students’ ages. Our program assists with general proficiency as well as English test preparation, through the use of RAZ-Kids, a digital reading platform. We also do arts, crafts and science!
